About the role

Maxlab Technology (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated Service Engineer (Electronic/Electrical) to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a pivotal position within our engineering department, based in Ara Damansara, Selangor. As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing our electronic and electrical equipment, particularly Analytical /Scientific Instruments. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring our clients receive the highest standard of technical support and that our equipment operates at optimal efficiency. This role combines hands-on technical work with customer interaction, making it essential to our service delivery and client satisfaction objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot electronic and electrical faults using appropriate testing equipment and diagnostic tools
• Perform preventative maintenance on analytical /scientific/laboratory instruments to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan
• Repair and replace faulty components, circuit boards, wiring, and other electrical elements
• Conduct system inspections and safety checks in accordance with industry standards and regulations
• Install new Analytical , scientific & laboratory instruments at client sites, ensuring proper configuration and functionality
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients regarding equipment operation and maintenance
• Document all service activities, repairs, and maintenance work in detailed service reports
• Collaborate with other team members and departments to resolve complex technical issues
• Stay current with industry developments and product updates to maintain technical competency

What we're looking for

• degree qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics or a related discipline
• Proven experience as a Service Engineer or Field Technician in the electronics or electrical sector, particularly analytical /scientific /laboratory instruments ideally 1-2 years ( Fresh Graduates may apply )
• Strong knowledge of electronic circuit design, electrical systems, and component functionality
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with a methodical approach to fault diagnosis
• Sound understanding of electrical safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical clients
• Time management and organizational skills to manage multiple service calls and priorities effectively
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites as required
• Relevant certifications in electrical safety or equipment-specific training are advantageous
