Job summary

MKS Medic Sdn Bhd is seeking a Service Engineer to install, commission, maintain and repair medical diagnostic equipment. The role includes on-site and remote technical support to hospitals and healthcare customers, ensuring reliability, safety and minimal downtime.

Responsibilities cover installation, PM, troubleshooting, service calls, documentation and coordination with internal teams. Travel to customer sites is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering or related technical field.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of medical/diagnostic equipment is an advantage.
• Fresh graduates with the appropriate technical background may be considered.
• Willing to travel for customer-site visits.

The role involves providing technical support to hospitals and healthcare customers, both on-site and remotely, while ensuring equipment reliability, safety and minimum downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and commission medical diagnostic equipment at customer sites.
• Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware and software-related issues.
• Attend customer service calls and perform on-site technical interventions.
• Repair and maintain medical equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Provide technical support and basic user guidance to healthcare professionals.
• Prepare and maintain accurate service reports and documentation.
• Manage and maintain service tools and spare parts.
• Liaise with manufacturers/principals regarding technical issues, repairs and replacement parts.
• Escalate complex technical problems to the manufacturer or relevant internal team.
• Support equipment servicing across MKS Medic's product areas, including Neurology, Gastroenterology, Audiology and Urology.
• Ensure service activities are performed according to applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
• Travel to customer sites when required.
• Work independently while coordinating with Sales, Clinical Application and other internal teams.

MKS Medic itself describes its biomedical services as including troubleshooting, planned preventative maintenance, ad-hoc maintenance and communication with manufacturers regarding customer equipment repairs.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering or a related technical field.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of medical/diagnostic equipment is an advantage.
• Previous field-service or technical-support experience is an advantage.
• Good communication skills.
• Able to communicate professionally with hospital staff, customers and manufacturers.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple service tasks.
• Willing to travel for customer-site visits.
• Valid driving licence.
• Fresh graduates with the appropriate technical background may also be considered, depending on the company's requirements.
