Job summary

Carsem (M) Sdn. Bhd. in Ipoh is seeking an experienced Test Engineering leader to steer the department toward productivity, quality, and profitability.

You will drive the engineering roadmap, manage multi‑team execution, and nurture key customer relationships to enable sustainable growth. The role requires 10–12 years in semiconductor test, strong leadership, and expertise in test automation, NPI, and Lean methods.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10–12 years of related working experience in semiconductor test.
• Strong leadership and people development skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the department’s strategic plans and engineering roadmap to support business growth and customer requirements.
• Lead, organize and direct the resources of the department to achieve productivity, yield, quality, cost, cycle time, equipment utilization, and customer satisfaction targets.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programs to enhance manufacturing competitiveness and achieve business objectives.
• Provide leadership and direction in all product testing activities to ensure compliance with customer requirements, engineering specifications, and quality standards.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers on technical, operational, quality and business matters, including strategic improvement programs, new product introductions, and transfer opportunities.
• Lead the evaluation, selection, development and implementation of new test technologies, automation solutions, and test equipment to enhance operational performance and support future business requirements.
• Accountable for the profitability and overall business performance of assigned product lines, including cost control, resource optimization, and investment planning.
• Lead new product qualification, technology transfer and product release activities to ensure timely introduction into production with minimal risk and maximum operational readiness.
• Drive customer scorecard performance and ensure all commitments related to quality, delivery, responsiveness and technical support are achieved.
• Develop and execute departmental cost reduction initiatives, productivity improvement programs and strategic projects to meet organizational goals and financial targets.
• Build organizational capability by developing succession plans, coaching managers, identifying high‑potential talent and implementing effective people development strategies.
