Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial matters for major construction projects. You will work with project teams to optimize profitability, manage contracts, and drive cost control from tender through to final accounts.

The role requires a degree/diploma in QS or related field, at least 5 years of relevant experience, and strong skills in contract administration, measurement, costing and variation management.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in construction quantity surveying.
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, measurement, costing, claims and variation management.
• Experience with main contractor/subcontractor commercial matters is an advantage.
• Good understanding of drawings, specifications and contract documents.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and ability to work independently to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction contracts from start to finish and monitor performance.
• Review documents, specifications, BOQ and contract conditions.
• Prepare VO, EOT, claims and other submissions and resolve issues with stakeholders.
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, cost plans and monthly progress claims.
• Verify subcontractor/supplier claims and monitor cost performance.
• Prepare regular commercial reports and highlight risks and overruns.
• Support procurement and tender activities and ensure proper documentation.
• Provide guidance to junior QS staff and coordinate with project teams.
