Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking an experienced Contract/QS Manager to lead the Quantity Surveying Department on construction projects. You will manage contracts, commercial matters, claims, variations, EOT, and subcontract management while steering the QS team and ensuring rigorous documentation.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with 10+ years in construction, strong knowledge of PAM/JKR/CIDB contract forms, and excellent English and Bahasa Malaysia communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Minimum 10 years in construction, QS, and contract management.
• Strong knowledge of PAM / JKR / CIDB contract forms.
• Experience with VO, EOT, claims and subcontract management.
• Knowledge of cost control and commercial management.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage and administer main contracts and subcontracts.
• Handle Variation Orders (VO), Extension of Time (EOT), and contractual claims.
• Oversee quantity surveying and commercial matters for projects.
• Monitor project costs, contractual obligations, milestones, and deadlines.
• Review subcontract agreements, valuations, and subcontractor claims.
• Prepare and review contractual letters, notices, and correspondence.
• Identify and manage contractual and commercial risks.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams.
• Lead and provide guidance to the QS team.
• Maintain proper contract, cost, and project documentation.
