Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in Quantity Surveying or related built environment.
• Professional membership with recognised surveying bodies.
• 2–5 years post-qualification experience on medium to large-scale projects.
• Expertise in cost estimation, planning, contract administration and final accounts.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian contracts and procurement practices.
• Proficient in QS software and MS Office.
• Experience in leading and mentoring staff.
• Excellent communication and negotiation with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and site safety.

About the role
Victorious Realty Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic construction team in Kuching, Sarawak. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of our construction projects. As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for ensuring cost efficiency, maintaining budgetary controls, and delivering exceptional value to our clients throughout the project lifecycle. This position offers the opportunity to lead quantity surveying initiatives and mentor junior staff whilst contributing to the strategic success of our organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation for construction projects
• Managing project budgets and financial forecasting to ensure costs remain within agreed parameters
• Conducting contract administration and managing variations, claims and disputes with clients and contractors
• Performing cost planning and value engineering to optimise project finances and deliver best value
• Liaising with architects, engineers, contractors and clients to ensure accurate cost information and project alignment
• Monitoring project expenditure and providing regular financial reports and cost updates
• Preparing final accounts and settling contractual disputes through negotiation and professional judgement
• Leading and supervising junior quantity surveying staff and supporting their professional development
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards, professional codes of conduct and relevant regulations

What we're looking for

• A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying or related built environment discipline (BSc, MSc or equivalent)
• Professional membership with recognised surveying bodies
• Minimum 2-5 years of post-qualification experience in quantity surveying, with substantial experience on medium to large-scale construction projects
• Proven expertise in cost estimation, cost planning, contract administration and final account preparation
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement strategies and commercial practices relevant to the Malaysian construction industry
• Excellent proficiency in relevant quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office applications
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities with the ability to manage and develop a team
• Outstanding communication and negotiation skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and commitment to site safety standards
