Job summary

Fantastic Food Factory Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Manager to lead all aspects of food safety, quality systems and regulatory compliance across our manufacturing plant.

You will drive the QMS (FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, Halal), mentor the QA/QC team, coordinate internal and external audits, and partner with R&D, Production and Logistics to ensure top quality and safety of our pies, breads, pastries and cakes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Technology or related field required; master's preferred.
• At least 10 years in food manufacturing QA with 5 years in a managerial role.
• Certified in HACCP & GMP; knowledge of FSSC, ISO 22000, and Halal standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead QMS implementation and continuous improvement (FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, Halal).
• Ensure compliance with local and international food safety regs; manage audits.
• Oversee QC of raw materials, in-process, finished goods; drive CAPAs.
• Maintain SOPs and quality manuals; report to stakeholders and regulators.
• Lead supplier audits and ensure material quality; collaborate with procurement.
• Collaborate with R&D, Production, Ops and Logistics to sustain product quality.

Responsible for overseeing all aspects of food safety, quality systems and regulatory compliance of the food manufacturing plant. The Senior Quality Assurance Manager plays a key part in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety and customer satisfaction as outlined in FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP and Halal quality management systems; whilst collaborating with cross-functional teams in maintaining a culture of “Safety and Quality First” throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Management System (QMS) & Compliance

• Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of QMS (FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, Halal and other quality standards practised by the organization).
• Ensure compliance with local food laws and international regulations.
• Prepare for and lead customer’s, third-party and regulatory audits.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging regulations, and best practices in food safety and quality assurance; make suitable recommendations for the continuous improvement of the organization.
• Develop and implement quality assurance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with food safety regulations, quality standards, and customer expectations which includes HACCP, GMP, Halal, VHM, ISO 9001, FSSC 2200, Food Defense and Fraud Prevention and other quality standard practiced by the organization.
• Manage and mentor the QA/QC team, providing training and performance management.
• Provide ongoing training and coaching to various other plant personnel on food safety and quality standards.
• Foster a culture of food safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the company.

3. Quality Control & Food Safety

• Oversee raw material, in-process, and finished goods inspections and testing.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality incidents, non-conformances, and customer complaints.
• Monitor microbiological, chemical, and physical parameters to ensure product safety.

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain and review SOPs, quality manuals, specifications, and food safety records.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting to internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
• Lead internal audits and implement CAPAs (Corrective & Preventive Actions).

5. Supplier Quality Management

• Lead supplier audits and evaluations to ensure the quality and safety of raw materials and ingredients used in production, whilst working closely with procurement and suppliers to ensure the company's quality standards are consistently met.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with R&D, Production, Operations and Logistics to establish and maintain quality control measures throughout the product life cycle, from sourcing to distribution.
• Support product development projects with quality and food safety input.

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Food Technology/ Food Science/ Food Biology/ Food Nutrition/ Dietetics or equivalent.
• Preferred Master in Food Technology, Food Scienceor Food Biology
• Required skill(s) experience in quality assurance, quality compliance, HACCP & GMP, FSSC or ISO 22000 certified
• Has implementation knowledge of GFSI, BRC, SMETA and Safety & Health (OSH)
• Attended Halal Executive certified courseMinimum 10 years working experience in food manufacturing quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity
