Job summary

KF Paper Products (Melaka) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior Purchasing & Procurement Executive to develop sourcing strategies for raw materials, packaging, and related items for production and logistics. You will identify suppliers, conduct evaluations, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier performance against KPIs.

You will streamline procurement from requisition to delivery, collaborate with production, inventory, and finance, and ensure compliance with ISO standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing in manufacturing
• Excellent negotiation skills
• ERP proficiency and Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of procurement best practices and regulations
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Senior Purchasing & Procurement Executive

This role involves developing and implementing sourcing strategies to ensure timely acquisition of raw materials, packaging supplies, and other necessary items for production. You will identify potential suppliers, conduct evaluations, and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms. You will cultivate strong relationships with key suppliers, monitor their performance against KPIs, and work to resolve disputes and implement supplier development initiatives. The role requires streamlining the procurement process from requisition to delivery, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align procurement with business objectives, and leveraging ERP systems to enhance efficiency. You will monitor and analyze procurement costs and variances to identify cost reduction opportunities, ensure compliance with regulations and company policies, and maintain accurate records and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies to ensure timely acquisition of raw materials, packaging supplies, machine spare parts and other necessary items for production and logistic
• Identify potential suppliers, conduct supplier evaluations, and negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions
• Perform PR and PO for supplier
• Cultivate strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration, trust, and open communication
• Monitor supplier performance against established KPIs, addressing any issues or concerns proactively to maintain quality and reliability of supply
• Work closely with suppliers to resolve disputes, manage lead times, and implement supplier development initiatives to drive continuous improvement
• Streamline the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with company policies and procedures
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, inventory management, and finance, to align procurement activities with business objectives and production schedules
• Monitor and analyze procurement costs, variances, and budget utilization, identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve cost-effectiveness

About you

• Minimum Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing department within manufacturing industry, preferably in the corrugated packaging industry or any related fast moving manufacturing sectors
• Excellent negotiation skill with a track record of successfully managing supplier relationships
• Proficiency in ERP system and Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of procurement best practices, industry regulations, and quality standards relevant to the manufacturing sector
• Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 & ISO14001
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision

We are also a member of The Malaysian Corrugated Carton Manufacturer Association. We are manufacturing all kinds and all sizes of corrugated cardboard as A flute, B flute and AB flute and the capacity is came to 5000 tons/month. We are supplying our products as semi-products (sheets) to the Printing Houses and the Processing Factories who convert to variety type of boxes. Our target in the future was manufacturing E flute, F flute, EB flute, BB flute and EA flute corrugated cardboard and also based on customer demands. In the mean time, our company has invested in few machines to enhance the company growth in domestic market and looking for possible customer and partnership in the country and international.
