KMWE Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Penang is seeking a procurement specialist to manage supplier relationships and secure quality, pricing, and timely delivery. You will issue POs, coordinate ERP updates, and monitor supplier performance to prevent production delays.
You will work closely with Production, Planning, Sales Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Logistics to support operations and ECN activities. Strong Excel/ERP skills and 2–4 years' experience are required.
Manage and develop relationships with assigned suppliers to ensure quality, competitive pricing, and reliable delivery.
Issue and manage Purchase Orders (POs), ensuring timely supplier acknowledgement and accurate ERP updates.
Monitor supplier on-time delivery performance and proactively resolve supply issues.
Coordinate delivery rescheduling, pull-ins, push-outs, and order cancellations based on customer demand.
Work closely with suppliers to ensure purchased materials meet quality and technical requirements.
Perform regular purchase order reconciliation with suppliers.
Participate in cross-functional meetings with Production, Planning, Sales Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Logistics to support business operations.
Support Engineering Change Notice (ECN) implementation by coordinating procurement activities.
Expedite urgent purchases to meet production and customer requirements.
Coordinate shipment arrangements with the Logistics team to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Monitor supplier Return-to-Vendor (RTV) activities and ensure timely replacement or return of rejected materials.
Review supplier invoices and resolve invoice discrepancies promptly.
Conduct supplier visits to resolve quality or delivery performance issues and strengthen supplier partnerships.
Prepare weekly procurement updates, supplier performance reports, and escalation reports for management.
Perform other duties and projects assigned by the Head of Department.
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Minimum 2–4 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management. Fresh graduates with strong academic results are encouraged to apply.
Good understanding of procurement and supply chain processes.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to work independently with minimum supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
