Job summary

Hatch Asia seeks an exceptional individual to source, negotiate and purchase construction materials, parts, supplies and equipment for client landscape projects in Malaysia. You will optimize price, delivery and payment terms while coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely project delivery.

The role involves evaluating quotations, issuing POs, and maintaining records, with mentorship of junior staff and coordination with logistics for on-time material delivery.

Responsibilities

• Source, negotiate and purchase materials, parts, supplies and equipment, optimizing price, delivery and terms.
• Evaluate vendors' quotations to ensure alignment with specifications.
• Issue and follow up on Purchase Orders and delivery.
• Negotiate best quality, price, terms and service with suppliers.
• Build and develop relationships with suppliers.
• Support QS Contract Team with quotations for tendering.
• Control cost/expenses based on contract budget.
• Coordinate with overseas vendors for customs clearance documents.
• Analyze potential vendors for future project needs.
• Maintain purchasing files and records; mentor purchasing staff.
• Manage drivers for timely delivery of materials.
• Ensure site/warehouse machinery are in working order.

The Challenges

A. Sourcing, Negotiation Cost Control

• Responsible to source, negotiate and purchase materials, parts, supplies and equipment following established purchasing procedures and optimizing price, delivery and terms.
• Evaluate vendors quotation to ensure that they are in line with the specifications required.
• Take charge of operational purchasing needs such as planning, issuing and following up on Purchase Orders delivery.
• Responsible in negotiating for the best quality, price, terms and service with suppliers.
• Build and develop relationships with suppliers.
• Support QS Contract Team with quotations for tendering.
• To control cost/expenses based on contract budget.
• Overseas vendors - negotiate and prepare documents for custom clearance
• Analyze potential vendors and suppliers for future project needs.
• Maintain Purchasing files and records.
• Mentor purchasing executives (2 staff)
• Manage drivers for timely delivery of materials (3 staff)

C. Stock-Taking

• Ensure required machinery on site/warehouse are in working order
