Job summary

Fook Huat Plastic Industries (M) Sdn Bhd in Malacca City invites qualified candidates for the role of Purchasing Executive. The position focuses on managing daily purchasing activities, supplier sourcing, negotiation and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support production.

You will prepare POs, monitor supplier performance and stock levels, review requisitions, and seek cost-saving opportunities. Mandarin proficiency is an advantage; experience in manufacturing preferred; proficient with

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of purchasing or procurement experience.
• Manufacturing/engineering industry experience is advantageous.
• Strong negotiation, communication and supplier management skills.
• Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage; good analytical and decision-making abilities.

Job description

Manage and oversee daily purchasing and procurement activities, including sourcing, evaluating and negotiating with suppliers to obtain competitive prices, quality products and favourable payment terms.

Key responsibilities

Prepare and process Purchase Orders (PO), ensuring accuracy and timely delivery

Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules and product quality

Ensure adequate stock levels and coordinate purchasing requirements with Production, Warehouse and other departments

Review purchase requisitions and ensure purchases comply with company policies and procedures

Monitor market trends, pricing and cost-saving opportunities

Maintain proper purchasing records, reports and documentation

Support management in procurement planning, budgeting and cost-control initiatives

About you

Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement or a related field

Minimum 5 years of relevant purchasing or procurement experience

Experience in manufacturing or engineering industries will be an added advantage

Strong negotiation, communication and supplier management skills

Good analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Proficiency in Mandarin (spoken and written) will be an added advantage

Proficient in Microsoft Office and purchasing/inventory systems

Able to work independently with minimal supervision

Mature, responsible, detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines
