Senior Purchase Executive/ Purchase Executive
Lead, mentor, and supervise subordinates, delegating daily tasks and ensuring operational productivity. Manage end-to-end procurement and rental of construction materials, equipment and machineries, working closely with Site Personnel and Quantity Surveyors to align purchasing schedules with project timelines.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and supervise subordinates, delegating daily tasks and ensuring operational productivity
- Improve procurement workflows and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Prepare, issue and combine procurement documents
- Manage end-to-end procurement and rental of construction materials, equipment and machineries
- Source, evaluate, and establish strong relationships with reliable suppliers and manufacturers to secure the best pricing, credit terms, and delivery schedules
- Prepare detailed quotation comparison sheets and award recommendations for management approval
- Negotiate long-term rate contracts and credit lines to optimize project cash flows
- Track material lead times, coordinate site deliveries, and address site shortages or delivery delays promptly
- Monitor project procurement budgets in coordination with the Contracts & Finance teams to avoid cost overruns
- Any other relevant tasks assigned by the superiors.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related fields
- Minimum 3 years of purchasing/procurement experience in the construction sector
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and procurement/ERP software
- Strong task delegation and communication skills
- High ethical standards and ability to work under tight site delivery deadlines
- Able to communicate in English and Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin is an added advantage for vendor liaison
