Job summary

BYD Malaysia is seeking a Senior Product Executive to support expansion and ongoing development of the BYD vehicle portfolio in Malaysia. You will work closely with vehicles and EVs, conducting market research, analyzing trends, and preparing product specifications and USPs for internal stakeholders and HQ.

You will collaborate with Sales and Marketing on launches and events, monitor market changes, gather dealer feedback, and coordinate with HQ to ensure timely communication and alignment on

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant automotive experience, especially in product planning or marketing.
• Strong English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is highly preferred.
• Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate and present clearly with internal and HQ stakeholders.

BYD – the world’s leading EV manufacturer, is looking for a highly motivated Senior Product Executive, to support with the expansion and continued development of the BYD vehicle portfolio in Malaysia. This role calls for a dedicated person who thrives on working closely with vehicles and EVs in particular and have a keen interest in the Malaysian automotive scene.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct market research and analysis on local automotive trends, customer preferences, competitor products, specifications and pricing.
• Analyze competitor models, product configurations, features, specifications and pricing to support product planning and positioning in the Malaysian market.
• Develop and maintain product specifications, competitive comparison materials and USPs (Unique Selling Points) based on local market requirements.
• Prepare product brochures, presentations and other product-related materials for internal stakeholders and HQ.
• Collaborate withSales and Marketing teams to support product launches, customer events and other product-related activities.
• Monitor competitor activities, new model launches, market trends and pricing changes and provide regular market intelligence updates to internal stakeholders and HQ counterparts.
• Support local product lifecycle management, including model year updates, product enhancements, facelifts, configuration changes and new model launch preparation.
• Gather and analyze customer and dealer feedback on product features, performance and usability and identify opportunities for product improvement.
• Coordinate with HQ and relevant internal departments on product-related matters to ensure timely communication, alignment and execution.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in the automotive industry, preferably in product planning, product management, sales or marketing-related fields. Experience in market research, data analysis and numerical analysis will be an added advantage.
• Good understanding of the automotive industry, with a strong interest in automotive products, emerging technologies and market trends.
• Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret market, customer and competitor data.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia. Proficiency in Mandarin is highly preferred, as the role involves frequent communication and close collaboration with China HQ.
• Good communication, coordination and presentation skills.
• Proactive, detail-oriented and adaptable, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
