Job summary

YUNHAI AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY SDN. BHD. is expanding its automotive component business in Malaysia and seeks a driven Business Development Officer.

You will leverage an established customer foundation, manage China-based accounts, and explore growth through new customers and projects in the Malaysian market. Ideal candidates hold a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree and have 2–5 years in business development or related roles, with strong English and Chinese communication.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Automotive or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or KAM.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing is a strong advantage.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Leverage established customer foundation and maintain relationships with existing China-based customers
• Identify business opportunities and expansion needs in Malaysia for existing customers
• Develop new customers and projects within the Malaysian automotive market
• Engage in customer engagement, RFQs, quotations, and commercial negotiations

YUNHAI AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY SDN. BHD. is looking for a driven Business Development Officer to support the expansion of our automotive component business in Malaysia. Backed by our Group's more than 30 years of experience in the automotive industry, we have established long-term relationships with a strong portfolio of well-known automotive customers in China. Your role will be to leverage this established customer foundation, maintain and develop relationships with our existing China-based customers, identify their business opportunities and expansion needs in Malaysia, while continuously developing new customers and projects within the Malaysian automotive market.

Key responsibilities

• Leverage established customer foundation and maintain relationships with existing China-based customers
• Identify business opportunities and expansion needs in Malaysia for existing customers
• Develop new customers and projects within the Malaysian automotive market
• Engage in customer engagement, RFQs, quotations, and commercial negotiations
• Support new project development and project coordination
• Work closely with internal technical, quality and production teams
• Manage multiple customers, RFQs and projects simultaneously
• Travel for customer visits, meetings and business activities when required

About you

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Automotive or a related field
• Preferably 2–5 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, Key Account Management or a related commercial role
• Experience in automotive manufacturing, Tier 1 or Tier 2 industry, RFQs, new project development or automotive programmes is a strong advantage
• Good business development mindset with the ability to develop opportunities from an established customer base while also identifying and securing new customers and projects
• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and customer relationship management skills
• Able to understand customer requirements and coordinate effectively with Technical, Quality, Production and other cross-functional teams
• Able to work independently while managing multiple customers, RFQs and projects simultaneously
• Good command of English, Bahasa Malaysia and Proficiency in Chinese is required.
