Job summary

Mindpec Solutions in Malaysia is seeking an experienced procurement professional to lead sourcing activities, negotiate with suppliers (especially in China) and manage end-to-end purchasing processes. The role requires strong Mandarin communication, English and Bahasa Malaysia fluency, plus 3–5 years in procurement within a manufacturing context.

The successful candidate will coordinate with cross-functional teams, optimize inventory, and ensure adherence to procurement policies while driving

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience in procurement/purchasing/supply chain, preferably manufacturing.
• Mandarin is required for communication and negotiation with China suppliers.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, problem-solving and supplier-management skills.
• Good knowledge of procurement, contract management, inventory planning and supply chain operations.
• Experience in China sourcing/overseas purchasing is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; ERP/purchasing system experience is an advantage.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing activities and identify/evaluate suitable suppliers, especially in China.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts and commercial agreements.
• Manage purchase orders according to inventory, sales forecasts and production requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance, quality, pricing and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate with China/local suppliers on product specifications, production, shipment and quality matters.
• Conduct price comparisons, market research and cost benchmarking to identify savings.
• Manage supplier evaluation, risk assessment and supply continuity.
• Work closely with Warehouse, Sales, Production, Finance and Operations teams to maintain optimal inventory.
• Prepare procurement, spending and supplier performance reports for Management.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
• Guide and supervise junior procurement team members where applicable.
