Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Senior Procurement professional to manage sourcing, purchasing and supplier relationships in a manufacturing setting. You will collaborate with Production, Warehouse, Sales, Finance and Operations, focusing on cost control and timely delivery.

The role requires Mandarin fluency to engage with China-based suppliers and involves overseeing supplier performance, contracts, and procurement documentation while driving cost-saving initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration or related field.
• 3–10 years of procurement/purchasing experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Experience dealing with China suppliers / overseas purchasing is an advantage.
• Mandarin speaking is required to communicate and negotiate with China counterparts.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and supplier-management skills.
• Good commercial awareness and cost-management ability.
• Experience with ERP / purchasing systems and Microsoft Excel is an advantage.
• Familiarity with import, shipping and international purchasing processes is a plus.
• Independent, organised and able to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing and supplier selection, including China-based suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms and commercial agreements.
• Manage Purchase Orders, purchasing activities and order fulfilment.
• Monitor supplier pricing, quality, delivery and performance.
• Coordinate overseas purchasing, production progress and shipment schedules.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage procurement risks.
• Review procurement contracts, supplier agreements and purchasing documentation.
• Monitor inventory requirements and coordinate closely with Production and Warehouse.
• Prepare procurement reports, spending analysis and supplier performance reports.
• Support and guide junior procurement team members where required.

About the Role

Working Hours

Monday – Friday

• At least 2 Saturdays on standby, WFH, when required for urgent supplier or production-related calls
