Job summary

IJM Corporation Berhad in Penang seeks a Planning Engineer to develop and maintain project baselines using Primavera P6, monitor progress and advise on corrective actions to keep on schedule.

The role requires 5+ years in fast-track construction planning, strong CPM knowledge, excellent communication and the ability to work on site at Batu Kawan, Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of fast-track construction planning experience.
• Proficient in Primavera P6.
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, critical path analysis, and progress measurement.
• Excellent analytical, communication and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently under tight deadlines.
• Willing to be based full-time at the Batu Kawan project site, Penang, Malaysia.

Coordinate with project managers, engineers and subcontractors to gather relevant progress data

Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards and schedule forecasts

Analyze schedule impacts arising from changes or variations and advise on time implications

Participate in project meetings and provide planning-related insights for decision-making

Support project risk analysis, resource allocation, and productivity tracking

Ensure compliance with company standards and client reporting requirements

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field

5+ years of planning experience with fast track construction project

Proficient in Primavera P6 is a must

Strong understanding of construction sequencing, critical path analysis, and progress measurement

Excellent analytical communication and coordination skills

Able to work independently under tight deadlines

Willing to be based full-time at the project site at Batu Kawan, Penang
