Job summary

Wah Loon Engineering Pte Ltd is seeking a Construction Planner to develop, maintain and update integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project. You will work with construction, design, engineering, procurement and commissioning teams to reflect actual project requirements and sequencing.

The role involves site visits to verify progress, monitoring baselines, identifying variances and coordinating with multiple teams to ensure on-time delivery of complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in construction, M&E, industrial, infrastructure, or data centre projects.
• Proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Strong understanding of project scheduling principles and critical path analysis.
• Experience in project controls, progress measurement, and reporting.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment with multiple work fronts and tight timelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Collaborate with construction, design, engineering, procurement and commissioning teams to reflect project requirements and sequencing.
• Visit site to verify progress, site conditions, and front availability with managers and subcontractors.
• Monitor progress against baseline, identify variances and critical path impacts.
• Track delays (design, procurement, materials, access, authority, subcontractors, manpower) and report findings.
• Maintain delay logs, progress records and documentation for reporting and commercial substantiation.
• Analyze schedule impacts from changes in design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure schedule alignment across functions.
• Identify critical path activities and suggest recovery, mitigation and resequencing options.
• Perform schedule forecasting, lookahead planning, progress analysis and productivity tracking.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards and delay reports for management and clients.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, resource planning and manpower planning activities.
• Monitor engineering deliverables, procurement, long-lead equipment, site installation, testing and handover milestones.
• Participate in review, site coordination and client meetings with schedule updates and recommendations.
• Assist in recovery programmes, revised schedules and delay implication analyses.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting files.

Job description

• Develop, maintain and update integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.


• Work closely with the construction team, design team, engineering team, procurement team and commissioning team to develop realistic project schedules that reflect actual project requirements, site constraints and construction sequencing.


• Regularly visit site and engage with construction managers, engineers, supervisors and subcontractors to verify actual progress, site conditions, access constraints, manpower deployment and work-front availability.


• Monitor project progress against the approved baseline schedule and identify variances, slippages, critical path impacts and emerging delay risks.


• Track and report project delays, including design delays, procurement delays, material delivery delays, access constraints, authority-related delays, subcontractor delays, manpower constraints and site execution delays.


• Maintain delay logs, progress records and supporting documentation to enable proper reporting, mitigation planning and commercial substantiation where required.


• Analyse schedule impacts arising from changes in design, procurement status, construction methodology, site sequencing, subcontractor performance and commissioning requirements.


• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and project management teams to ensure schedule alignment across all project functions.


• Identify critical path activities and recommend practical recovery plans, mitigation measures and resequencing options.


• Perform schedule forecasting, lookahead planning, progress analysis and productivity tracking to support project decision-making.


• Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports, dashboards, S-curves, lookahead schedules and delay reports for project management, senior management and clients.


• Support budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, project controls and manpower planning activities.


• Monitor engineering deliverables, procurement activities, long-lead equipment, site installation works, testing milestones, commissioning activities and handover requirements.


• Participate in project review meetings, site coordination meetings, subcontractor meetings and client meetings, providing schedule-related updates and recommendations.


• Support the preparation of recovery programmes, revised schedules, extension of time records and delay impact analysis where required.


• Maintain accurate project documentation, schedule records, progress updates and reporting files.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or equivalent.


• Minimum 3 years of experience in construction, M&E, industrial, infrastructure, or Data Centre projects.


• Proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in Data Centre, semiconductor or other mission-critical facilities.


• Experience in M&E project planning, including electrical infrastructure, mechanical systems, fire protection, ELV, testing, commissioning and integrated systems testing.


• Familiarity with high-density construction environments involving multiple subcontractors, staged handovers, energisation milestones and critical commissioning dates.


• Experience preparing recovery programmes, delay logs, lookahead schedules, S-curves, progress dashboards and client-facing project reports.
