Qualifications

Role Description

The Information Technology Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Melaka, responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure and services. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring and administering networks, installing and configuring hardware and software, and ensuring systems are secure, stable, and up to date. The role involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues, responding to service requests, and providing timely support to internal users to minimize downtime and maintain high service levels. The IT Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement IT policies, support new technology initiatives, and document procedures and configurations for continuous improvement. This position also requires proactive participation in system performance reviews, backup and recovery routines, and adherence to security and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Information Technology fundamentals, including familiarity with operating systems, hardware components, and common enterprise applications.
• Candidates should possess Network Administration capabilities, covering configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of LAN/WAN environments.
• Candidates should possess Network Security skills, including implementing security controls, managing firewalls, and supporting secure access and data protection practices.
• Candidates should possess Troubleshooting abilities to diagnose, prioritize, and resolve technical issues efficiently across network, system, and user environments.
• Candidates should possess Customer Service skills to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and provide user-focused support in a professional manner.
• Relevant academic background in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA, ITIL) are an advantage.
