Job summary

Austin Leisure Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Austin Heights Group, seeks an experienced Housekeeping Manager to oversee all housekeeping department operations at our hotel in Johor Bahru. You will lead room cleaning, public areas, and laundry services to ensure guests receive top-quality cleanliness and service.

You will develop policies, train staff, manage budgets, schedule rosters, and coordinate with Front Office and Maintenance.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or related field.
• 3–5 years of hotel operations experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of housekeeping operations and standards.
• Fluency in English; strong leadership and communication skills.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement housekeeping policies, procedures and quality standards.
• Lead, train, mentor and motivate housekeeping staff to meet targets and guest satisfaction.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas for cleanliness and maintenance.
• Manage housekeeping budgets, including staffing costs and supplies.
• Respond promptly to guest complaints and coordinate with other departments.
• Direct and schedule roster to cover events and peak periods.
• Implement sustainability initiatives within housekeeping operations.
• Coordinate with Front Office, Maintenance and Management for seamless operations.
• Prepare and present regular reports on performance and occupancy metrics.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by Superior.

Oversee and manage all housekeeping department operations, including room cleaning, public area maintenance and laundry services. Ensure that guest check-in/check-out and Front Desk Operations are handled efficiently providing the best care and services to hotel guests.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement housekeeping policies, procedures and quality standards to ensure compliance with hotel and industry best practices
• Lead, train, mentor and motivate housekeeping staff to achieve performance targets and maintain high levels of guest satisfaction
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness, maintenance and adherence to established standards
• Manage housekeeping budgets, including staffing costs, cleaning supplies and equipment maintenance
• Respond promptly to guest complaints and maintenance issues, coordinating with relevant departments to ensure swift resolution
• Direct and schedule staff roster in accordance with events, festival days and periods to ensure adequate staff on duty to provide efficient and quality service
• Implement sustainability and environmental initiatives within housekeeping operations
• Liaise with other departments including Front Office, Maintenance and Management to ensure seamless hotel operations
• Prepare and present regular reports on departmental performance, occupancy rates and staffing metrics
• Perform any other duties and special projects as assigned by Superior

About you

• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or related field (preferred)
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in hotel operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
• Good knowledge of housekeeping operations and standards
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Communicates and writes with fluency in English
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
