Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and service-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to lead and oversee housekeeping operations across the Group's hospitality & clubhouse. This role is responsible for maintaining exceptional cleanliness, hygiene, presentation, and operational standards while ensuring guests, visitors, and internal stakeholders enjoy a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the hospitality or hotel industry, with proven experience in supervising housekeeping teams, implementing service standards, coordinating cleaning schedules, and maintaining quality assurance in line with industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the housekeeping team to ensure all assigned areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards.
- Plan daily work schedules, allocate manpower efficiently, and monitor staff attendance, productivity, and performance.
- Conduct routine inspections of clubhouse facilities, public areas, washrooms, VIP areas, and common spaces to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are consistently achieved.
- Ensure housekeeping operations comply with company policies, hygiene standards, health and safety regulations, and hospitality best practices.
- Develop and implement housekeeping Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), cleaning schedules, and quality control measures.
- Train, coach, and mentor housekeeping staff on cleaning techniques, service etiquette, safety procedures, and operational standards.
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning chemicals, linen, uniforms, guest amenities, and housekeeping supplies, ensuring timely replenishment and cost-effective usage.
- Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers for housekeeping materials, laundry services, pest control, and specialised cleaning works.
- Liaise closely with Facilities, Maintenance, Administration, and other departments to ensure operational issues are resolved promptly.
- Report maintenance defects, equipment failures, or safety hazards and follow up until completion.
- Handle guest, resident, or management feedback and resolve housekeeping-related issues professionally and promptly.
- Monitor housekeeping budgets, control operational costs, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Prepare housekeeping reports, inspection records, staff performance reports, and operational updates for management.
- Ensure proper care, storage, and maintenance of housekeeping equipment and cleaning machinery.
- Support special events, VIP visits, festive decorations, and ad hoc operational requirements as assigned.
- Perform any other duties or special assignments as directed by management.
Requirements & Qualifications
Must Have (Essential):
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Tourism, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of supervisory experience in housekeeping within the hotel, hospitality, serviced residence, resort, or luxury accommodation industry.
- Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning standards, hygiene protocols, and hospitality service excellence.
- Proven experience leading and supervising housekeeping teams.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and time management skills.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
- Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken).
- High attention to detail with a commitment to delivering exceptional cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when operationally required.
Advantageous (Good to Have):
- Experience in hotels, luxury residences, private clubs, or hospitality establishments.
- Knowledge of housekeeping quality audit standards and hotel brand service standards.
- Experience using hotel Property Management Systems (PMS) or housekeeping management software.
- Certification in Housekeeping Operations, Hospitality Management, or Occupational Safety & Health.
- Experience managing outsourced housekeeping contractors.
- Strong inventory management and budget control experience.
- First Aid or workplace safety certification is an added advantage.
