Job summary

Austin Leisure Sdn Bhd, part of the Austin Heights Group, is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to join our hospitality team in Johor Bahru. You will help manage room cleanliness, assist with maintenance requests, and support the daily operations of the housekeeping area.

Fresh graduates welcome; the role requires ability to multitask, handle night shifts, weekends, and holidays, and work with a team to deliver high standards of cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Minimum SPM.
• Experience as Housekeeping Assistant in hospitality is an advantage.
• Ability to multitask and make decisions in difficult situations.
• Willing to work shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
• On-the-job training and uniform provided.
• Candidates preferably residing in Johor Bahru.

Responsibilities

• Assign room attendants to rooms and ensure reporting to their workplace on time.
• Manage day-to-day activities in housekeeping.
• Control vacant rooms and ready for occupancy.
• Direct make-up/cleaning requests and supervise public areas.
• Raise requisitions and ensure materials per budget.
• Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, storerooms, linen rooms, pantries and trolleys.
• Check in-house or stay-over rooms as necessary.
• Issue maintenance orders and ensure follow-up.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure that Room Attendants are assigned respective rooms and that they report to their work area with clean uniforms, neatly groomed at the scheduled time.
• Manages the day-to-day activities at the housekeeping area of responsibility.
• Controlling and supervision of vacant rooms to ensure that they are ready for occupancy.
• Directs room attendants for any and all special ‘Make-up’ and/or cleaning requests. Oversees the Public areas designated under the direct responsibility of the housekeeping department for cleanliness and conducts inspections and follow up as needed.
• Raises Requisitions as necessary and ensures availability of all materials required as per budgeted expense without compensating the daily operations of the department.
• Conducts routine inspections of Guest Rooms, Storerooms, Linen Rooms, Pantries and Trolleys and supplies and other related facilities regularly.
• Checks In-house or Stay-over rooms as necessary.
• Issuance of Maintenance Orders & requests as required and ensuring they are attended and finalized.

Requirements:

Minimum SPM. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply!

Has working experience as Housekeeping Assistant in the Hospitality Industry will be an added advantage.

Must be able to handle multiple tasks and make appropriate decisions in difficult situations.

Willing to work on shifts (including night shifts), weekends and public holidays.

On the job training & uniform will be provided!

Preferable candidates staying at Johor Bahru Area
