Job summary

Magma Hospitality Management Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced Head of Housekeeping to lead all housekeeping operations and ensure hotel cleanliness, order, and appearance to brand standards.

You will manage teams, oversee budget preparation, stock par levels, and coordinate with maintenance and purchasing to maintain facilities and guest satisfaction. The role requires 8–10 years in housekeeping, with 2–3 years in a similar leadership position, and flexibility for weekends and shifts.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and organizational skills.

• 8–10 years of housekeeping experience, including 2–3 years in a similar role.
• Good knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning standards, and safety procedures.
• SPM, Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management or related field.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to work weekends, public holidays, and flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for cleanliness, orderliness, and appearance of the entire Hotel.
• Ensure that rooms are made as per company standards.
• Prepare Annual Housekeeping Budget.
• Maintain par stock of guest supplies, cleaning supplies, linen, and uniforms.
• Organize inventories with Accounts and General Store for linen, uniform, and fixed assets.
• Pay particular attention while organizing pest eradication activities.
• Develop and implement housekeeping systems and procedures.
• Prepare reports for management information.
• Assist the Purchase department in selecting suppliers for items related to housekeeping.
• Planned, controlled, and supervised Horticultural activities.
• Attending and resolving guest complaints.
• Verification of supplies consignments.
• Organize on-the-job training and evaluate its effectiveness.
• Approval of the Functional Manual of the department.
• Recommend recruitment of new personnel.
• Daily inspection of public areas and employee's locker rooms.
• Daily briefing of Supervisors/ Executives.
• Coordinating the preventive maintenance schedule of rooms and public areas with the maintenance department.
• Immediately attending to guest requests.
