Job summary

The THE KUALA LUMPUR JOURNAL is seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee cleaning of guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and public areas, while supporting housekeeping operations and mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness to standards, making beds, replenishing towels, handling waste, reporting maintenance issues, and guiding Attendants through on-the-job coaching. This role requires leadership and a commitment to health and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in housekeeping (hotel preferred).
• Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations and room standards.
• Ability to lead and mentor staff.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work shifts including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and public areas according to established standards.
• Make beds, change linens, and replenish towels and guest amenities.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and sanitize assigned areas.
• Dispose of waste and ensure proper handling of cleaning materials and equipment.
• Report any maintenance issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor promptly.
• Replenish housekeeping supplies and ensure adequate stock levels in assigned areas.
• Handle lost and found items in accordance with company procedures.
• Respond to guest requests and inquiries in a courteous and professional manner.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
• Guide and mentor Housekeeping Attendants by providing on-the-job coaching and ensuring adherence to departmental standards.
