SCHOTT Glass (M) Sdn Bhd in Kulim, Malaysia is seeking a Data Engineer to design, implement, and maintain data infrastructure for mass production. You will build scalable data pipelines, integrate data from multiple sources, and enable analytics to optimize process performance within Process Engineering.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in CS/DS/Engineering, at least 5 years in high-tech manufacturing, and fluency in English and Malay.

Job description

The Data Engineer will support the mass production process by designing, implementing, and maintaining data infrastructure and analysis pipelines. This role ensures the efficient collection, storage, and analysis of production data to optimize process performance and support decision-making within the Process Engineering team.

Your Tasks:

Design and develop scalable data pipelines and architectures to support mass production data needs.

Implement systems for collecting and integrating data from various production sources.

Collaborate with Process Engineering to analyze production data, generate insights, and create reports to drive process improvements.

Maintain and optimize databases to ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility.

Develop and implement automated data processing and analysis workflows.

Identify and resolve data-related issues promptly to minimize production downtime.

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data processes, systems, and protocols.

Your Profile:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in high-tech manufacturing.

Fluency in English and Malay languages.

Proficiency in SQL and database management.

Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.

Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).

Expert in statistical software e.g. JMP.

Hands-on knowledge in Python and JMP scripting.

Strong knowledge of process control systems and deviation management using data.

Strong communication, organizational, and team building skills.
