Job summary

Genetec Technology Berhad is seeking a data analyst to collect, clean, and analyze production data from diverse sources. You will develop dashboards using Excel, Power BI, or Tableau and present insights to management with a clear, concise narrative.

The role requires a quantitative degree, strong Excel skills, and knowledge of SQL/Python/R for data processing. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply for this entry-level position in Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (data science, CS, statistics, math, economics) or related discipline.
• Fresh graduates encouraged; up to 1 year of relevant experience welcome.
• Proficient in Excel with data analysis, formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation.
• Familiarity with SQL, Python or R for data extraction and analysis.
• Knowledge of Power BI or Tableau for data visualization and BI reporting.
• Good communication and ability to present findings to non-technical stakeholders.

Job description

Key responsibilities

Collect, consolidate, and organize production data from various sources, including manufacturing systems, operational records, and internal databases

Clean and validate raw data by identifying missing values, inconsistencies, duplication, and errors to ensure data accuracy and reliability

Analyze production and operational data to identify trends, patterns, performance gaps, and potential operational risks

Apply statistical methods and analytical techniques to evaluate production performance, productivity, efficiency, and quality indicators

Develop and maintain regular reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or Tableau

Present complex data and analytical findings in a clear, concise, and easy-to-understand format for management and relevant stakeholders

Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Finance, IT, and other relevant departments to understand business requirements and analytical needs

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related discipline

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with up to 1 year of relevant working experience are welcome

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation

Familiarity with SQL, Python, or R for data extraction, processing, and analysis

Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
