Job summary

Dimerco is seeking a seasoned Air Freight Operations Lead to oversee import and export activities, ensuring efficient daily operations and high service levels. You will drive performance, cost control, and process improvements while leading a high-performing team across multiple regions.

You will manage relationships with customers and airlines, ensure ISO/SOP compliance, and guide the department to meet revenue and profitability targets in a dynamic global logistics environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all Air Freight import and export operations and ensure smooth and efficient daily operations.
• Lead the Air Operations team to achieve operational, service and business objectives.
• Monitor departmental performance, productivity and operational KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, ISO requirements and relevant regulations.
• Identify operational issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, service quality and productivity.
• Maintain strong relationships with key customers, airlines, overseas Dimerco stations, agents and business partners.
• Act as the escalation point for major operational issues and customer complaints.
• Lead, motivate and develop the Air Freight Operations team.
• Monitor operational costs and identify opportunities for cost improvement.

About you

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in freight forwarding, logistics, transportation or related industry, with managerial experience
• Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of Air Freight import and export procedures and documentation
• Proven leadership and people management skills
• Strong customer service, communication and negotiation skills
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of revenue, profitability and cost control
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making and organisational skills
• Able to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant freight forwarding systems
• Good command of English and Malay
