Job summary

Shipco Transport Inc. is seeking an Airfreight Manager to lead airfreight development and team leadership across four Malaysia offices, based in Penang. You will manage airline and GSA relationships, oversee tendering and payment cycles, and ensure profitable, compliant shipments.

The role requires 5+ years in Ocean/Air freight, strong networks, and a commercial mindset. Expect a dynamic, matrix-global environment with opportunities for growth in Penang and beyond.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years similar experience in the Ocean / Air freight industries.
• Knowledgeable in commercial and operational roles in freight management/NVOCC business (Product/Commercial Business Development/Tender Management).
• Strong external and internal networks related to Ocean/Air freight.
• Proven experience working in a global, matrix business environment.
• Strong commercial mind-set and good product knowledge.
• Excellent analytical skills & negotiation experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the development of airfreight operations and the management of the airfreight team across Malaysia offices.
• Manage and maintain strong relationships with airlines, GSA agents, and warehouse operators.
• Track and trace with all compliance with IATA and ensuring adherence to payment cycles.
• Ensure all shipments tendered to the company are handled in a timely and profitable manner.
• Customer service orientated and result driven.
• Adhere to corporate compliance, global and local policies with procedures designed to prevent and detect violations of applicable law, regulations, rules and ethical standards by employees, agents and others.
• Any ad-hoc assignment that have been assigned from time to time.
