Job summary

The Zenith Hotel Sdn Bhd is seeking a Safety & Security Manager to oversee all aspects of safety, security, and emergency response across the hotel. You will lead the Safety & Security team, develop and enforce SOPs, conduct risk assessments, and coordinate drills to protect guests, employees and assets.

The role requires a strong background in health and safety regulations, excellent stakeholder liaison, and a proven ability to drive preventive actions and security improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar safety and security management role within the hospitality industry
• Thorough understanding of relevant health, safety, and security legislation and industry best practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach
• Proven track record of leading and motivating a team of security personnel
• Proficient in the use of relevant safety and security management software and technologies

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Safety & Security team, including staff scheduling, training, performance management, and operation of security systems
• Conduct routine risk assessments, safety inspections, security audits, and incident investigations with corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with local health, safety, fire, and security regulations and coordinate emergency drills
• Prepare departmental budgets, forecasts, and reports and liaise with authorities, contractors, and internal departments to support safe operations

Job description

The Safety & Security Manager shall be responsible in assisting in all matters pertaining to the providing, administering and maintaining of adequate and ensuring effective safety and security of guests, employees, and the hotel assets.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and monitor the hotel's safety, security, and emergency response policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure a safe environment for guests, employees, and hotel assets.

Lead and supervise the Safety & Security team, including staff scheduling, training, performance management, and the effective operation of security systems, access controls, and surveillance equipment.

Conduct routine risk assessments, safety inspections, security audits, and incident investigations, implementing corrective and preventive actions where necessary.

Ensure compliance with OSHA 1994, the Fire Services Act, and all applicable health, safety, fire, and security regulations, while coordinating emergency drills and safety awareness programmes.

Prepare departmental budgets, forecasts, and reports, and liaise with local authorities, emergency services, contractors, and internal departments to support safe and secure hotel operations.
