Job summary

EQ Hotel Kuala Lumpur is seeking a professional Security Officer responsible for maintaining the safety and security of guests, staff, and property. The role focuses on enforcing hotel procedures with hospitality service.

You will monitor premises, control access, operate CCTV and fire alarm systems, respond to emergencies, and assist guests and authorities as needed. Shift work including weekends is required to ensure a safe, orderly environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in security, hotel security, customer service or a similar position.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and secure hotel premises, including entrances, exits, car parks and designated security posts.
• Manage access control, visitor registration, staff checks and screening of incoming and outgoing items.
• Monitor CCTV, fire alarm panels and other security systems, responding promptly to alarms and emergencies.
• Conduct regular patrols and identify unusual activities, safety hazards and potential risks.
• Manage crowd control, traffic flow and access at hotel entrances and event areas.
• Support Sky51 operations, including guest screening, ID verification and enforcement of house rules.
• Attend to guest concerns, manage difficult situations and maintain a safe and orderly environment.
• Assist in emergency response, evacuation, fire safety and coordination with local authorities.
• Perform duties for cash collection and other security-related assignments.
• Attend departmental briefings, training sessions and perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
