Job summary

Hotel Equatorial Penang seeks an experienced Digital Marketing and Social Media Manager to lead its digital strategy, enhance brand visibility, and collaborate with Sales and Operations to support commercial goals. This hands-on role requires strong technical and commercial acumen, including performance marketing and content leadership across major platforms.

• Develop, plan, and lead organic and paid social strategies, content calendars and engaging multimedia creation across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Xiaohongshu (XHS).
• Execute pre-opening, launch, seasonal, festive, F&B, wedding and MICE campaigns.
• Manage digital budgets, optimise ad spend and deliver measurable commercial results.
• Optimise the website, booking engine, search performance and GA4-driven conversions.
• Develop targeted, bilingual campaigns for key regional and inbound Chinese markets.
• Uphold brand standards, manage online reviews and collaborate with Sales, Operations and media partners to drive business.

As Equatorial Penang prepares for its exciting return, we are seeking an experienced, hands-on Digital Marketing and Social Media Manager with strong technical and commercial acumen to lead our digital strategy, elevate our social media presence, strengthen brand visibility, and collaborate with key departments to support the hotel’s commercial objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance Marketing: Drive Meta, Google Ads and OTA campaigns in all relevant source markets, to maximise direct bookings and ROI.

Social media & Content: Develop, plan, and lead organic and paid social strategies, content calendars and engaging multimedia creation across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Xiaohongshu (XHS). Ideate storyboards to execute with the media team produce high-quality short-form multimedia content.

Reopening & Campaigns: Execute pre-opening, launch, seasonal, festive, F&B, wedding and MICE campaigns.

Budget & Revenue Optimisation: Manage digital budgets, optimise ad spend and deliver measurable commercial results.

Website, SEO/SEM & Analytics: Optimise the website, booking engine, search performance and GA4-driven conversions.

Source Market Targeting: Develop targeted, bilingual campaigns for key regional and inbound Chinese markets.

Brand, Reputation & Partnerships: Uphold brand standards, manage online reviews and collaborate with Sales, Operations and media partners to drive business.
