Job summary

Eonmetall Group Berhad is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join our production floor team. You will be the primary eyes on the factory floor, ensuring daily safety SOP compliance across steel coil processing, rack manufacturing, and machinery plants.

You will collaborate with supervisors, operators, and the SHO to promote a zero-harm culture. Responsibilities include daily hazard identification, LOTO compliance checks, PTW processing, and incident documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher with relevant OSH exposure.
• Completed DOSH approved training course for OSH coordinator.
• 1–2 years experience in safety assistant, coordinator or technician roles.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily floor Walkthroughs to identify hazards and unsafe behaviors.
• Ensure daily safety compliance with guards, E-stop checks, and LOTO during maintenance.
• Audit safety adherence among line workers and subcontractors.
• Review and issue PTW for hot work, heights, electrical, and confined spaces.
• Monitor forklift and crane operations for safe boundaries.
• Serve as first responder for incidents and administer basic first aid.
• Collect field evidence and statements for root-cause investigations.
• Deliver safety inductions for new workers and visiting contractors.
• Monitor 5S housekeeping and clear fire exits.

Job description

Eonmetall Group Berhad is seeking an operational, detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to join our production floor team. In this role, you will act as the primary eyes and ears on the factory floor, ensuring daily compliance with safety standard operating procedures (SOPs) across our steel cold-rolling, racking system assembly, and machinery manufacturing plants. You will work closely with factory supervisors, machinery operators, and the SHO to promote a proactive zero-harm culture.

Reporting To: Safety & Health Officer (SHO)

Key responsibilities

Perform daily floor walkthroughs across steel coil processing, welding, metal press, and rack manufacturing bays to identify immediate hazards or unsafe behaviors.

Ensure daily machine safety compliance, including proper operational guards, Emergency Stop function checks, and adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols during maintenance.

Audit and compliance among line workers, technicians, and sub-contractors.

Review and issue daily Permit-to-Work (PTW) applications for high-risk tasks such as hot work (welding/cutting), working at heights, electrical work, and confined space entries.

Assist in monitoring forklift movement, overhead crane lifts, and heavy steel coil material handling to ensure safe operational boundaries.

Act as a first responder during workplace incidents, minor injuries, or near-miss events; administer basic First Aid if required.

Gather immediate field evidence, worker statements, and photograph evidence to assist the SHO in root-cause accident investigations.

Track and log daily near-misses and safe-act reports submitted by line workers.

Deliver safety inductions for new production workers, temporary operators, and visiting contractors.

Monitor industrial hygiene, 5S factory housekeeping standards, and clear fire exit routes.

About you

Minimum diploma qualification and completed DOSH approved training course for OSH coordinator.

Good communication and problem-solving skills.

1-2 years experiences in safety assistant, coordinator or technician role.
