Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain OSH policies, procedures and standards in line with Malaysian regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections, risk assessments and hazard identifications; recommend corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses; document findings and implement preventive measures.
• Provide health and safety training and inductions for all staff levels.
• Maintain accurate OSH records and documentation such as incident reports and training logs.
• Liaise with regulators, inspectors and external agencies for compliance.
• Promote a positive safety culture via toolbox talks and safety committees.
• Manage PPE inventory and ensure proper usage across the site.
• Advise management on resource allocation for safety initiatives.
• Coordinate with occupational health services to support wellbeing programs.

Safety & Health (OSH Coordinator / HSE Executive)

We are looking for a Safety & Health (OSH Coordinator / HSE Executive) to join our team in Johor Bahru. You will be responsible for supporting workplace safety, ensuring compliance with OSH requirements, and promoting a safe working environment. You will also assist in implementing safety programmes and improving the company’s safety practices.

Key responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and standards in compliance with Malaysian regulations and international best practices

Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification to identify potential safety concerns and recommend corrective actions

Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses, documenting findings and implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence

Provide health and safety training and induction programmes to employees at all levels, ensuring awareness and compliance with safety protocols

Maintain accurate health and safety records, statistics, and documentation, including incident reports, medical records, and training logs

Liaise with regulatory authorities, health and safety inspectors, and external agencies to ensure organizational compliance with relevant legislation

Promote a positive health and safety culture through awareness campaigns, toolbox talks, and safety committees

Monitor and manage personal protective equipment (PPE) inventory, ensuring availability and proper usage across the workplace

Advise management on health and safety matters, including resource allocation and investment in safety initiatives

Coordinate with occupational health services and medical professionals to support employee wellbeing programmes

What we’re looking for

Minimum Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health (OSH), Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum 1–3 years of professional experience in an occupational health and safety role or HSE coordinator position

Possess an OSH Coordinator Certificate or Certified Safety & Health Officer (SHO) qualification.

DOSH-registered Safety & Health Officer (Green Book) will be an added advantage.

1–3 years of experience in a dedicated OSH role, such as Safety & Health Assistant , Safety Officer or EHS Assistant.

Good knowledge of OSH laws, regulations and workplace safety requirements.

Experience in conducting risk assessments, workplace inspections, audits and incident/accident investigations.

Experience in a heavy industry or manufacturing environment will be an added advantage.

Good communication and coordination skills, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
