Job summary

MAP ACTIVE MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. seeks an experienced Store Manager to own the store’s commercial success, people performance and daily operations while delivering an excellent customer experience.

You will lead, motivate and develop the store team to achieve sales targets and KPIs, manage staffing, inventory and budgeting, and ensure brand standards and loss prevention are tightly maintained. The role requires strong leadership, retail operations knowledge and excellent communication in English

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Store Management or supervisory role.
• Experience in apparel, fashion, footwear, sports or FMCG retail preferred.
• Diploma or Degree in Retail Management, Marketing or related field.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Proven ability to drive sales, KPIs and store profitability.
• Strong customer service and commercial awareness.
• Good understanding of retail operations, inventory management and loss prevention.
• Excellent communication, coaching and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive, results-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Passionate about sports, fashion and retail.
• Good command of English and local language.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the store and drive sales, productivity and profitability.
• Lead, motivate and develop the store team to achieve sales and KPI targets.
• Manage store manpower, scheduling and resources effectively to support business needs.
• Monitor store performance, analyze sales data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Manage controllable operating expenses and ensure operations are within the approved budget.
• Deliver excellent customer service and foster an active selling environment.
• Act as a Brand Ambassador, ensuring brand values, product knowledge and service standards are consistently demonstrated.
• Ensure proper execution of Visual Merchandising, In-Store Communication and promotional activities.
• Oversee daily store operations, including stock receiving, replenishment, inventory management and stocktake.
• Ensure accurate and efficient cash handling and compliance with loss prevention procedures.
• Maintain high standards of store cleanliness, safety and overall store presentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and applicable legal requirements.
• Work closely with Merchandising and Warehouse teams to maintain stock availability and support sales targets.
• Conduct regular team meetings, coaching and on-the-job training to improve team performance.
• Manage staff performance, including setting expectations, providing feedback and addressing performance concerns.
• Support recruitment and onboarding of store team members in collaboration with HR and the District Manager.
• Identify and develop high-potential employees for future career opportunities.
• Implement employee recognition and engagement initiatives.
• Work closely with the District Manager and Retail Operations team to execute business initiatives and improvement plans.
• Provide regular feedback on customer trends, retail performance and store operations.
• Support Mystery Shopper initiatives and implement corrective action plans where required.
