Job summary

PY KONSEP PERUNDING SDN. BHD. seeks a Resident Engineer (Civil & Structural) to lead on a dam construction project in Tenom, Sabah. You will supervise the Civil & Structural site team, ensure compliance with drawings, specs, contract terms and standards.

Required are a PE‑registered Civil Engineer with 10+ years’ dam/infra experience, strong leadership and the ability to coordinate with clients, contractors and consultants on technical issues. Based in Sabah, project duration applies.

Qualifications

• Master/Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, recognised by authorities.
• PE registered with BEM, preferably with PEPC Practising Certificate.
• Minimum 10 years of Civil & Structural experience, dam/hydropower or major infra preferred.
• Strong site supervision and contract administration experience.
• Sound knowledge of civil/structural practices, specs, drawings and QC.
• Experience in dam-related works and related infrastructure.
• Excellent leadership, communication, coordination and problem-solving.
• Able to work independently and manage site supervision activities.
• Willing to be stationed in Tenom, Sabah for project duration.

Job description

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Resident Engineer (Civil & Structural) to join our project team for a dam construction project located in Tenom, Sabah. You will lead and supervise the Civil & Structural site supervision team to ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements and applicable standards.

Key responsibilities

Lead and supervise the Civil & Structural site supervision team to ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements and applicable standards.

Monitor and oversee construction progress, workmanship, quality and site activities.

Review and provide technical comments on shop drawings, method statements, material submissions and other technical documents.

Coordinate with the Client, Contractor, consultants and other project stakeholders to resolve technical and construction-related issues.

Monitor site progress and provide regular updates, reports and recommendations to the Project Management Team.

Ensure proper implementation of quality, safety and environmental requirements on site.

Attend site meetings, technical meetings and progress meetings as required.

Review and verify site measurements, work progress, inspection records and relevant documentation for certification purposes.

Identify potential construction issues and recommend appropriate engineering solutions.

Ensure proper documentation and records of site activities, inspections, instructions and correspondence are maintained.

About you

Master / Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, recognised by the relevant authorities.

Registered Professional Engineer (PE) with BEM, preferably with a valid Practising Certificate (PEPC).

Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Civil & Structural engineering, preferably with substantial experience in dam, hydropower, tunnel or major infrastructure projects.

Strong experience in construction supervision and contract administration.

Good knowledge of Civil & Structural construction practices, specifications, drawings and quality control requirements.

Experience in dam-related works such as concrete structures, foundations, earthworks, slope protection, hydraulic structures and/or associated infrastructure.

Good leadership, communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.

Able to work independently and manage site supervision activities effectively.

Willing to be stationed at Tenom, Sabah for the duration of the project.
