Job summary

Zone Designworks Sdn Bhd is seeking a Resident Engineer for Civil & Structural (C&S) works to oversee day-to-day construction activities on a 2-storey factory addition/alteration in Subang Hi-Tech, Selangor.

The role requires a Civil/Structural Engineering degree and at least 7 years of relevant site experience, with strong knowledge of building construction, structural works, and quality control. Based at the Subang Hi-Tech project site for the duration of the works.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant working experience in civil and structural construction/site supervision.
• Strong experience in building construction, structural works, concrete works and renovation/addition works.
• Good knowledge of construction methods, structural drawings, specifications and quality control.
• Familiar with Malaysian Standards, UBBL and local authority requirements.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
• Good communication and coordination skills with contractors, consultants and clients.
• Able to work independently and make sound technical decisions on site.
• Must be willing to be based at the project site in Subang Hi-Tech, Selangor.
• Candidates must be able to commit for the duration of the project.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor C&S works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements and relevant authorities' requirements.
• Review and verify construction works, materials and workmanship to ensure they meet the required quality and engineering standards.
• Coordinate with the Contractor, Architect, M&E consultants, client and other project consultants to resolve technical and site-related issues.
• Monitor site progress and ensure works are carried out according to the approved construction programme.
• Conduct regular site inspections and identify defects, non-compliance and potential construction issues.
• Review method statements, shop drawings, material submissions and technical proposals related to C&S works.
• Attend site meetings, technical coordination meetings and progress meetings as required.
• Prepare and maintain site inspection records, site reports, progress reports and other relevant project documentation.
• Monitor and verify the Contractor's progress claims and completed works where required.
• Provide technical advice and recommendations on C&S matters encountered during construction.
