Job summary

Themetech International (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage tenders and cost control for projects in Kulim High Tech Park, Kedah. The role involves preparing BOQs from drawings, reviewing documents, and coordinating with clients and suppliers.

Candidate should possess 5+ years in QS or cost consulting, with strong knowledge of tender processes and MEP cost estimation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in quantity surveying or cost consulting.
• Professional qualifications in QS or related engineering field are required.
• Knowledge of tender processes, contract conditions, and design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Tender preparation and submission.
• Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) from tender drawings and specifications.
• Review tender documents and prepare tender queries to collect missing data.
• Attend client/contractor meetings and weekly progress meetings when required by the Project Manager.
• Prepare cost estimations for MEP works (plumbing, HVAC, electrical) and pricing, rate buildup of materials, labor, plants, and other costs.
• Invite quotations from subcontractors/suppliers, negotiate, compare, and prepare pre-contract and tender activity.
• Maintain and update Approved Subcontractor/Supplier database.
• Track design changes and adjust budget projections accordingly.

Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor

Responsible for tender preparation & submission.

Preparation of Bill of Quantity (BOQ) based on tender drawing & Specification.

Review of tender documents and prepare of tender queries to confirm and collect any missing data.

Attend technical meetings with the client / contractor and weekly progress meetings if required by the Project Manager.

Preparation of Cost Estimation for MEP Works (Plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical) and Pricing, Rate Buildup of Materials, Labor, Plants, and other misc.

Invite the Quotation from Subcontractor / Supplier, Negotiation and Comparison, and ability to prepare pre-contract & tender activity.

Maintenance and update of Approved Subcontractor / Supplier database.

Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly.

Job Requirements

Candidate must possess at least Professional Certificate, Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree / Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or equivalent.

5+ years of experience in quantity surveying or cost consulting, preferably in the construction Industry.

Knowledge in the initial review of projects, contract conditions, specifications, and design drawings.

Proficient in the use of construction-related software, such as cost estimation and project management tools;

Good knowledge and understanding in overall processes of cost and contract management, feasibility studies and tender process.
