TRAX SOLUTIONS SDN BHD in Shah Alam is seeking a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to manage project costs, prepare estimates, tender documents, and ensure effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
You will perform quantities take-offs, analyze costs, review subcontractor bids, monitor budgets, and prepare cost reports. A degree in Quantity Surveying and 3–5 years' experience, plus registration with BQSM, are required.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our project team. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing project costs, preparing cost estimates and tender documentation, evaluating claims and variations, and ensuring effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare cost estimates, budgets, Bills of Quantities (BQ), and other relevant tender and contractual documents.
Perform quantity take-offs, measurements, and cost analysis based on drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Prepare, review, and evaluate tender submissions, quotations, and subcontractor proposals.
Monitor and control project costs to ensure expenditure is within the approved budget.
Prepare and evaluate progress claims, interim valuations, variation orders, and final accounts.
Review and verify subcontractors’ and suppliers’ claims, quotations, and invoices.
Identify, assess, and manage variations, additional works, and potential cost implications throughout the project.
Liaise and coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams on commercial and contractual matters.
Maintain accurate records of project costs, contracts, variations, claims, and other commercial documentation.
Prepare periodic cost reports, cash flow forecasts, cost comparisons, and other commercial reports for management review.
Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building, Engineering, or other related field.
3–5 years of relevant working experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in construction, infrastructure, engineering, or project-based environments.
Registered Quantity Surveying Technologist (QST) / Provisional Quantity Surveyor (PVQS) with the Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia (BQSM), or equivalent professional body.
Good knowledge of quantity take-off, cost estimation, tendering, procurement, contract administration, progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts.
Familiar with construction contracts, contractual documentation, and commercial practices.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of quantity surveying or cost management software will be an added advantage.
Strong numerical, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
Detail-oriented with good documentation and organizational skills.
Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight project deadlines.
