Job summary

Kelington Technologies (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd invites an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our contracts management team on a contract basis in Kuching, Sarawak. The role covers tender submissions, cost analysis, and contract administration, with a focus on competitive pricing and risk management.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and review of tender submissions, BOQs, cost breakdowns, and pricing analyses.
• Review tender documents, specifications and drawings for contractual/commercial risk.
• Source, evaluate and negotiate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare and review technical-commercial proposals and deviations for submission.
• Conduct cost benchmarking, market rate analysis, and value engineering studies.
• Manage contract administration including progress claims, variations, valuations and final accounts.
• Review subcontractor payment claims, quotations, and work progress.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and project team to resolve issues.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and quantities.

About the role

Kelington Technologies (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our contracts management team on a contract basis based in Kuching, Sarawak.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of tender submissions, BOQs, cost breakdowns, and pricing analyses;
• Review and interpret tender documents, specifications and drawings to identify contractual and commercial risk;
• Source, evaluate and negotiate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers for cost and technical compliance;
• Prepare and review technical-commercial proposals, clarifications and deviations for submission;
• Conduct cost benchmarking, market rate analysis, and value engineering studies to support competitive pricing;
• Manage contract administration including progress claims, variation orders, interim valuations and final accounts;
• Review and verify subcontractor payment claims, quotations and work progress;
• Liaise with clients, consultants and project team to resolve commercial and contractual issues;
• Responsible in full and complete process for preparation and submission of tender documents;
• Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take offs. Bidding and proposal.

Requirements

• Degree Holder in Quantity Surveyor or related field;
• Minimum of 3-5 years professional experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry;
• Proficiency in cost estimating software and project management tools;
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to manage relationships across multiple stakeholders;
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously;
• Good command of English, Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese is added advantages;
• Willing to work across Malaysia at project site throughout project duration.
