Job summary

MINSEC ENGINEERING SDN. BHD. seeks a junior Quantity Surveyor to support tender documentation, cost estimation and contract administration for plant projects across Malaysia and beyond. You will read tender specifications, prepare budgets, and liaise with consultants, clients, and subcontractors. Willingness to travel is required.

The role offers opportunities in cost control, reporting and contract compliance within a growing engineering services company.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying required.
• Ability to prepare technical contracts and read tender specifications and drawings.
• 1–2 years of related field experience; fresh graduates encouraged to apply.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tender documents and costings with consultants/clients.
• Check contract documents and issue awards/work orders to subcontractors.
• Track design changes and adjust budget projections accordingly.
• Obtain quotations from contractors and suppliers.
• Analyse outcomes, prepare progress reports and evaluate completed work.
• Prepare contractual claims and variation orders.
• Value subcontractors' completed work and arrange progress claims.
• Assist in contractual issues and related QS duties; attend design and progress meetings.

Job description

Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the consultant or the client.

Prepare and analyse costings for tenders/ quotations.

Check contract document, prepare award of contracts / Work Order to subcontractors and follow up on the work progress.

To keep tracks of any design changes and adjust budget projection accordingly.

To obtain quotations and prices from contractors and suppliers.

Analyse outcomes and prepare progress reports, evaluate completed work and prepare contractual claim and variation orders.

Value subcontractors completed work and arrange progress claim.

Assist in operation matters on contractual issues and any other contracts administration duties related to QS.

Attending to design team and progress meetings as required.

Requirements :

Candidate must possess at least a Degree, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Quantity Survey or equivalent.

Knowledge to prepare technical contract and able to read up on tender specifications & drawing.

Preferable 1 year or 2 years of working experience in the related field.

Fresh graduates with good academic are encourage to apply.

With good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Willing to travel.
