Job summary

LIANG BUILDERS SDN. BHD. is seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to support the contracts team on bungalow, residential and renovation projects.

You will assist in take-offs, cost estimation and progress claims, and learn the full project cycle from tender to final account. The role is suitable for fresh graduates or those with up to 2 years of main contractor experience, with opportunities to grow under guidance and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management or equivalent.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; 1–2 years main contractor experience is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD for drawing take off.
• Competent in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Familiarity with PAM 2006 or PAM 2018 forms of contract is an added advantage.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, written and spoken.
• Possess own transport and willing to travel to site as required.

Responsibilities

• Taking off quantities and preparing bills of quantities in accordance with SMM2.
• Assisting in tender preparation, subcontractor and supplier enquiries, and tender comparison.
• Preparing monthly progress claims to clients and consultants, and evaluating subcontractor claims.
• Pricing and recording variation orders, site instructions and provisional sum adjustments.
• Carrying out site measurement, valuation of work done and material reconciliation.
• Assisting in cost monitoring, budget control and final account preparation.
• Preparing correspondence to clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Maintaining proper documentation and filing of contract records.

Key responsibilities

• Taking off quantities and preparing bills of quantities in accordance with SMM2
• Assisting in tender preparation, subcontractor and supplier enquiries, and tender comparison

About you
