Job summary

San Niche Interior is seeking a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Malaysia. This role focuses on project costing, procurement, subcontractor management and cost control within interior fit-out and construction projects.

Fresh graduates with strong academic backgrounds are welcome; 1–3 years of relevant experience is preferred. Mandarin-speaking candidates are required due to client communications; own transport and willingness to travel are advantages.

Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building, Civil Engineering, or related field
1–3 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, construction or interior fit-out projects preferred
Fresh graduates welcome with strong willingness to learn
Experience in interior fit-out, renovation or commercial/retail projects is an advantage
Good understanding of quantity take-off, costing, quotation comparison and cost control
Familiar with variation orders, progress claims and subcontractor management
Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office will be an added advantage
Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented, organized and able to work independently
Good communication, negotiation and coordination skills
Able to communicate and write in Chinese, English and Bahasa Malaysia
Mandarin-speaking candidates are required for frequent communication with Mandarin-speaking clients, contractors and suppliers
Possess own transport and willing to travel to project sites
Candidates who can start immediately have added advantage
Must have full working rights in Malaysia

Responsibilities

Prepare and review project cost estimates, quotations and budgets
Prepare quantity take-offs, measurements and Bills of Quantities (BQ)
Source, compare and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and project teams on pricing and costing matters
Monitor project costs, variations and material usage
Prepare and evaluate variation orders, progress claims and payment certifications
Assist in subcontractor and supplier negotiations
Monitor project budget and identify potential cost overruns
Maintain proper documentation, costing records and project-related reports
Support the Project Manager and project team on commercial and contractual matters
Carry out other QS and cost control duties as required
