Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is seeking a Quantity Surveyor with 4-6 years of experience in construction or interior design, preferably with retail or commercial project exposure.

You will assist in cost estimation, tendering, and contractual administration while supporting financial management, site liaison, and documentation to ensure profitability and compliance.

Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Experience: min 4-6 years in construction or interior design, exposure to retail or commercial projects.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp).
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, proactive attitude; excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Certifications: Provisional registration with the Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia (BQSM) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Cost Estimation & Tendering: Assist in preparing detailed BoQs and cost estimates for new retail and commercial projects.
• Contractual Administration: Draft Letters of Award, manage contract documentation, ensure compliance with project terms.
• Financial Management: Prepare progress claims, payment certificates, and final accounts; monitor project budgets and cost control.
• Site & Stakeholder Liaison: Conduct site valuations and coordinate with sub-contractors and suppliers to verify progress.
• Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of project-related documents, including drawings, contracts, claims and change orders.
