Job summary

Cheksern Young Builders Sdn Bhd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor specialized in interior fit-out and renovation projects. The role includes ownership of tender processes, cost control, and contract administration, working closely with contractors, suppliers, and project teams.

Candidates should have a Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying and at least 2 years of relevant experience. A supportive work environment and attractive yearly performance bonus are offered.

About This Opportunity
We're a growing company specializing in interior fit-out and renovation projects. We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team and take ownership of tender processes, cost control, and contract administration. You'll work closely with contractors, suppliers, and project teams helping deliver high-profile fit-out projects on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

What You'll Do

• Conduct site visits to verify measurements and flag discrepancies against plans
• Break down BQs by trade, contractor, and supplier
• Compare quotations and run value engineering for cost-effective solutions
• Prepare and submit accurate, compliant tender documents
• Manage work orders, progress claims, and variation orders per contract terms
• Handle final claims, retention releases, and support dispute resolution as needed

What We're Looking For

• Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
• Minimum 2 years' QS experience in interior fit-out/renovation
• Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry regulations
• Willing to travel when required
