Job summary

Basics Decor in Malaysia is seeking a seasoned Quantity Surveyor to support pre- and post-contract activities. The role involves tender preparation, cost estimation and budgeting for interior decoration and joinery projects, with engagement across clients and subcontractors.

Strong English, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia are essential, along with 7–10 years of ID contractor experience and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Strong proficiency in English, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Experience in ID Contractor projects (Interior Decoration, Renovation, Joinery, Furniture).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software and cost estimation tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare information for tender exercises, quotations, costing reports and tender submissions.
• Prepare project budgets, cash flows, tender reports and final accounts.
• Involve in costing, estimating and procurement of materials, price negotiation with clients and sub-contractors.
• Monitor contractual claims, variations and final accounts; assist with EOT and sub-contract payments.
• Attend client and consultant meetings and site valuations; ensure transparency and accountability.

Job Responsibility : -PRE-CONTRACTS

Preparing information to participate in tender exercise, measurement, writing quotations, costing report & tender submission.

Preparation of taking off quantity, material sourcing, material estimating and labour cost.

POST-CONTRACTS

Preparing projects budget, projects cash flow, management tender committee reports and final accounts.

Involving in costing, estimating, purchasing of materials, price negotiation with clients & sub-contractors, awarding of contracts etc.

Ensuring transparency, accountability and responsibility is maintained and all transactions in the department in the interest of the interest of the company.

Advising and assisting the PIC's on compliance with contractual requirement including EOT, variation works, progress claims and Sub-contract payments.

Re-measuring quantities in original and variation works (including material-on site) for verification of progress claims, final accounts and Sub-contract payments.

Monitor and coordinate contractual claims, payments, variations and final accounts.

Working in conjunction with the PIC's in budget preparation solicitation evaluation negotiation and award of Sub-contracts.

Attending client consultants meeting, project meeting and site valuation

Job Requirements : -

Candidate must posses at least Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent from a recognized institution.

At least 7 - 10 years of working experience in ID Contractor (Interior Decoration, Renovation, Joinery Work & Loose Furniture)

Well verse in Microsoft Office Software.

Good in spoken and written English, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Posses good analytical skills, meticulous, highly organized, proactive, committed and strong negotiation skills.

Ability to build good relationship internally and externally.

Able to work independently under minimal supervision.

Able to work under pressure and meet deadline.
