Persatuan Mempertingkatkan Perdagangan Dan Ekonomi Malaysia-China is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support commercial, contractual and cost management of construction and infrastructure projects in Malaysia.
You will handle pre- and post-contract duties, prepare budgets, manage variations and final accounts, and coordinate with project teams to protect commercial interests while maintaining cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

Working as part of the Project and Commercial Team, the Quantity Surveyor shall be responsible for supporting the commercial, contractual and cost management of the company's construction and infrastructure projects, protecting the company's commercial interests and ensuring effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage quantity surveying, commercial and contractual matters for assigned projects.
Handle pre- and post-contract quantity surveying duties, including quantity take-off, cost estimation, tender preparation, project costing, progress claims, variations and final accounts.
Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and other relevant documents, and assist in preparing quotations and tender submissions.
Obtain, review and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers, and assist in their procurement, appointment and commercial management.
Review Letters of Award, contracts, BOQ, specifications and other contractual documents, and highlight potential commercial, contractual and cost risks to management.
Prepare project budgets and monitor committed costs, actual costs, subcontractor costs and forecast final costs, and prepare regular cost and commercial reports.
Carry out site measurements, progress valuations and preparation and submission of progress claims and interim payment applications.
Identify, evaluate, prepare and submit variation claims, and maintain proper supporting documents and records for all variations.
Prepare pre-measurements, final measurements and final accounts, and assist in final account negotiation and settlement.
Attend site, commercial, technical and coordination meetings when required, and perform other quantity surveying and commercial duties assigned by management.
Assess subcontractor progress claims and payment applications and coordinate with the Project and Accounts teams on payment recommendations.
Monitor payment certification, outstanding claims, retention sums and other project commercial matters, and assist in maintaining positive project cash flow.
Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Site Supervisors and the Accounts Team on project costs, contractual requirements, progress claims and other commercial matters.
Handle contractual and commercial issues, maintain proper project documentation and filing systems, and communicate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and other relevant parties.
Possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or other related fields.
At least 2–3 years of relevant working experience in construction, infrastructure, civil engineering or a project-based contracting environment.
Good knowledge of quantity surveying practices, cost estimation, project costing, progress claims, variations, subcontractor valuation and final accounts.
Familiar with construction contracts, BOQ, drawings, specifications and other contractual documents.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with AutoCAD and other relevant quantity surveying or construction software.
Good oral and written proficiency in English and Chinese.
Able to communicate and coordinate effectively with project teams, clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and other external parties.
Able to work independently under tight deadlines, with strong analytical ability, attention to detail, initiative and a responsible working attitude.
Able to identify potential contractual, commercial and cost risks and recommend appropriate solutions.
Willing to work flexible hours and travel to project sites when required.
