Job summary

IJM Corporation Berhad Industry Division is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor in Bestari Jaya/Rawang to support budgeting, contract vetting, and liaison with consultants and clients. You will prepare progress claims, ensure timely payments, and assist in sub-contractor payments, contributing to project cash flow and cost control.

The role requires 2-3 years in construction contract management and a relevant Diploma.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years experience in construction contract management desired.
• Diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying is required.
• Detail-oriented, strong negotiator and good problem solver is a plus.
• Occasional on-site visits to monitor progress and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare budget bills of quantities.
• Vet contracts and forms of contract.
• Liaise with consultants and clients.
• Prepare and format progress claims.
• Ensure timely payment to sustain company funds.
• Obtain quotations, compare budgets, specify requirements, negotiate, and issue Letters of Acceptance.
• Prepare payments to sub-contractors and track aging.

Your Impact:

Preparation of budget bill of quantities.

Vetting through Form of Contracts.

Liaise with consultants and clients

Format and preparation of Progress Claims.

Ensure Timely collection of payment to sustain company fund.

Calling quotation, Budget comparison, specification, negotiation, prepare Letter of Acceptance.

Preparation of sub-contractor payment and sub-contractors aging.

All post contract administration including Variation Claim and Final claim.

Preparation of Cash Flow

Advise the project and purchasing department in relation to Quantities and price against budget.

Specification and quality.

Labour constant and work study analysis.

Cost study on prefabrication and its efficiency.

Talking off quantity.

What We’re Looking For:

Must Have:

Preferably 2 - 3 years experiences in construction contract management

Candidate must possess at least Diploma in Construction Management/ Civil Engineering/ Quantity Surveying or equivalent

A detailed-oriented person, strong negotiator & good problem solver will be an added advantage.

Occasionally requires on-site visits to construction projects to assess compliance and monitor progress.

Familiar with local, national, or international construction laws and regulations.

The office is located at Bestari Jaya, Rawang.

Good to Have:

Previous experience in construction or industrial equipment sales

Understanding of project management principles

Knowledge of industry procurement processes

Existing network of industry contacts
