Job summary

IJM Industry in Bestari Jaya seeks a Lead Engineer to oversee mechanical engineering for high-performance concrete piles across Southeast Asia and North America. You will coordinate fabrication processes in our state-of-the-art facilities and mentor a team of mechanical engineers.

You will drive cost estimation, ensure quality and safety compliance, and collaborate with architects and other engineers to integrate mechanical systems into project designs. Travel is required as needed.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of mechanical engineering experience with proven records managing complex steel fabrication projects.
• Proficiency in steel fabrication.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Willing to travel and based at Bestari Jaya.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage mechanical engineering aspects of projects according to requirements and timelines.
• Supervise and mentor a team of mechanical engineers, coordinating with architects and other engineers.
• Prepare and monitor cost estimation and expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Manage client requirements and issues, reporting to management and clients in a timely manner.
• Ensure quality control and compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations.

Lead engineering excellence at IJM Industry as our Engineering Fabrication, overseeing production of high-performance concrete piles for major projects across South East Asia and North America. You'll coordinate complex fabrication processes in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities.

Your Impact:

Lead & manage mechanical engineering aspects project according to requirement & timelines

Supervise & mentor a team of mechanical engineers, coordinate with architects, structural, E&E engineers

Prepare & monitor cost estimation, expenditure, identify & propose cost-saving opportunities which align with overall project budget

Manage & resolve client requirements & issues, update & report to management & client in timely basis.

Ensure quality control and compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and contract requirements.

Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems into overall project designs.

What We're Looking For:

Must Have:

• Preferably 2-3 years experiences in mechanical engineering with proven records of managing complex projects (steel fabrication)
• Good in Steel fabrication
• Candidate must possess at least Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Willing to travel and base at Bestari Jaya

Good to Have:

• Previous experience in construction or industrial equipment sales
• Understanding of project management principles
• Knowledge of industry procurement processes
• Additional language proficiency (especially Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin)
• Existing network of industry contacts
