About the role JHM Engineering SDN BHD is seeking a dedicated QC Inspector/Technician to join our Quality Assurance and Control team. This is a full-time position based in Batu Maung, Penang. As QC Inspector/Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of product quality and ensuring compliance with industry specifications and regulatory requirements. Your work will directly impact our reputation for excellence and our customers' satisfaction, making this a strategically important position within our manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

Conduct visual inspections and dimensional measurements on manufactured components and finished products using precision measurement tools and equipment

Perform quality control tests and inspections at various stages of the manufacturing process to identify defects and non-conformities

Document inspection results accurately and maintain detailed quality records and reports

Compare products and materials against established specifications, blueprints, and quality standards

Identify, report and elevate quality issues to production management and engineering teams

Collaborate with production staff to understand processes and implement corrective actions for quality improvements

Operate and maintain quality control equipment, calibrating instruments as required

Participate in root cause analysis and quality improvement initiatives to reduce defects and waste

Ensure adherence to health, safety and environmental standards in the quality control area

Maintain a clean and organised work environment in the inspection and testing areas

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a QC Inspector, Quality Technician or similar quality assurance role in a manufacturing environment

Strong knowledge of quality control processes, inspection techniques and ISO standards (ISO 9001 or equivalent)

Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as callipers, micrometres, gauges and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)

Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify defects and deviations from specifications

Competence in reading technical drawings, blueprints and specifications

Experience with quality management systems and documentation procedures

Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills

Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment

Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks in a factory setting

Certification in quality assurance, metrology or related field is advantageous

Experience in the engineering or precision manufacturing sector is preferred
