Job summary

DPI Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a QA/QC Section Head to lead quality assurance and quality control for aerosol paint manufacturing. You will oversee raw materials inspection, in‑process monitoring, final testing, and regulatory compliance to ensure products meet company standards and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years QA/QC experience in paint, coating, or aerosol manufacturing.
• Experience with ISO 9001, regulatory compliance and quality management systems.
• Hands-on laboratory testing, product evaluation, and troubleshooting experience.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

The QA/QC Section Head is responsible for managing, leading, and coordinating all quality assurance and quality control activities related to aerosol spray paint and aerosol product manufacturing. This includes raw materials inspection, in-process quality monitoring, final product testing, regulatory compliance, documentation, and continuous improvement to ensure that products meet company standards, customer requirements, and legal regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QAQC)

Lead and supervise QC activities for incoming raw materials, in-process production, filling lines, and finished goods.

Develop, implement, and monitor QAQC testing procedures and work instructions.

Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and usage of QC laboratory instruments and other sections related instrument for calibration.

Approve or reject raw materials and finished products based on test results and specifications.

Investigate, document, and resolve non-conformance cases (NCRs) and quality deviations.

Establish and maintain quality assurance systems aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and other relevant standards.

Conduct internal audits, prepare for external audits, and ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented.

Leadership & Management

Supervise and train QA/QC team members, ensuring competency in laboratory and production testing.

Assign daily tasks and monitor performance of QAQC staff and interns.

Collaborate with R&D, CBS, Aerosol Production, Operations, Sales & Marketing, customers and suppliers to resolve quality-related issues and non-conformances.

Provide technical support and quality-related data to customers, suppliers and sales teams when required.

Lead and manage quality management system (ISO 9001:2018 system and SIRIM) and continuous improvement initiatives.

Documentation & Reporting

Prepare quality reports on product quality trends, rejection rates, and corrective actions.

Maintain accurate and traceable quality records (batch records, COAs, customer complaint logs).

Responsible for records of customer complaint investigations, root cause analysis, and provide solutions to prevent recurrence.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with CBS and Aerosol Production to ensure product specification and requirements are met.

Collaborate with R&D on quality testing, issue resolution, and process validation.

Partner with Sales & Marketing to resolve issues raised by customers.

Collaborate with Procurement and suppliers to resolve non-conformance related issues.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.

Minimum 5–7 years of QA/QC experience in paint, coating, or aerosol-related manufacturing.

Familiarity with ISO standards, quality management systems, and regulatory compliance for chemical manufacturing industry.

Hands-on experience in laboratory testing, product evaluation, and troubleshooting.

Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Good communication and reporting skills.
